Dr. Sandip Chakraborti completed his MBBS from Calcutta Medical College in 1987, followed by an MS in general surgery from IPGMER, CU in 1992.
He went to the United Kingdom in 1992 and acquired basic and higher-level surgical training from 1993 to 1998 as a specialist registrar. He returned to the UK in 1999 for a one-year specialized training in the liver HPB unit at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Birmingham.
Dr. Chakraborti returned to Kolkata in October 2000 and has been practicing gastrointestinal and advanced laparoscopic surgery for the past 24 years with great precision and perfection. He attends major conferences on GI and HPB surgeries both nationally and internationally and has delivered several lectures in the same field.
Dr. Chakraborti is preparing to adopt robotic surgeries in advanced GI management care strategies. Along with his dedicated team at Manipal Hospital, he regularly performs laparoscopic colorectal, bariatric, hernia, and redo surgeries.
